Kobe Beef
As the saying goes, Happiness is the first bite of a well-cooked steak, and Wagyu beef in Kobe is the best steak I’ve ever tasted. Kobe is famous for its beef and its teppanyaki-style cooking makes you want to crave for more. I tried Kobe beef at a restaurant called Steak Land on Ikura road. It was cool to watch the steak cooked right in front of me. The steak, with sides of vegetables and potatoes, was melt in your mouth tender that I took my sweet time to savor every bite.
Nagasaki Castella Cake
Nagasaki Castella Cake is one of the best desserts for me. I especially like the Fukusaya brand as it was moist and the sweetness and texture was just right. Probably the best Castella out of all the ones I bought. Should be just right because the Fukusaya brand has been around since 1624. It comes in different flavors – original, matcha, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, etc. The cake is best served warm. So when I bought some to take home with me, I popped one into the oven for 1-2 mins. And matched it with some matcha green tea. It was so tasty!
Hokkaido Milk and Ice Cream
Milk from Hokkaido is considered the best in Japan, which makes their soft-serve ice cream out of this world delicious. I can really taste the different creaminess, the soft and silky texture, and the freshness of the milk compared to other places in Japan. Their ice cream cones, which was different from Belgian cones, were also different. It had a unique crunch and thin texture which were called crispy langues de chat cones. Cold weather or not, it didn’t stop me from eating, it was that good.
